Incumbent Jerry Daniels is the sole candidate to keep his seat on the Allen County Commission.

Monday’s deadline passed with nobody else filing to vie for Daniels’s position.

Daniels, of Humboldt, represents the southern portions of the county, as well as Moran and the Elsmore-Savonburg portions to the east.

There will be one locally contested race in the November general election.

Moran’s Darrell Dix II filed prior to Monday’s deadline for a Moran City Council seat. He joins incumbents Nancy Houk, Warren Johnson and Kris Smith in that race.

Because the Moran Council race is non-partisan, those candidates will be decided in November.

While Daniels is unopposed, his name nevertheless will be listed in the Aug. 4 Republican primary ballot, which will include hopefuls for several statewide and U.S. congressional races.
