U.S. 54 was closed to traffic from Iola to Yates Center late Thursday morning after a smoldering grain fire was reported at Piqua Farmers Co-op.
The Woodson County Emergency Management Office said firefighters had not yet doused the burning grain by late morning. Allen County firefighters were on the scene to assist as well.
There was no immediate word on when the highway would reopen.
