Iola’s public facilities will reopen in phases, the city announced in a Facebook post Friday.

The items coincide with Gov. Laura Kelly’s announcement that a blanket statewide stay-at-home order will be allowed to expire Sunday, and be replaced with a phased reopening.

Iola City Hall will reopen to the public on May 18, while the building’s drive-through lane will reopen a week earlier on May 11. Iola Municipal Court sessions will resume May 13 “in a reduced manner.”

Meanwhile, recreation programs and the municipal pool will remain suspended, although the hope is both will be open to the public by June 1.

The community buildings are  projected to be reopen for rentals and other activities by June 15.
