Chase Appling with the City of Iola’s Streets and Alley Department adds to a mountain range of snow several hundred feet long at the end of South Washington Avenue in Iola Wednesday afternoon.
City crews have been busy throughout the week removing snow from city streets, creating a perfect spot for snow forts, castles, sledding slopes and the like.
Another blast of bitterly cold air is forecast to return Friday and Saturday before seasonal temps return Sunday.
