Alyce Mae Elliott, 77, of Kansas City, Mo., died Friday, May 13, 2011.
She was a 1951 graduate of Iola High School.
She was a longtime supporter of United Methodist Women and volunteered at Shepherd’s Center until she herself needed that help. She enjoyed yard work and bird watching.
She is survived by Richard, her husband of 51 years, and sons, Steve and Don, and grandchildren, Shari and Sean.
Her parents, Marcella and Everett “Shep” Shepherd, who was police chief of Iola for 35 years and her aunt, Alice O’Hara, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday with a funeral service following at 11 o’clock at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Old Iola Cemetery.
