Betty Jean Brownback, age 83, of Tonganoxie, Kan., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, after surgical complications.
She was born Dec. 13, 1942 to Virl Harry Kimzey and Bertha May Patton in Moran, Kan.
In 1956, Betty Jean married Walter Neal Sponseller. They had two children Curtis Alan and Richard Dean. In 1964, she married Donnie Calvin Brownback. They had one child, Donnie Calvin Brownback II.
Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Donald; and her son Curtis.
Survivors include brother, Isaiah Kimzey, and sisters, Edith Jones, Katherine Gafford, Nelda McAnally and Barbara Medlock, all of Oklahoma.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Blue Mound Bible Church, Blue Mound. Visitation is an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, Mildred.
