Betty Jean Brownback, age 83, of Tonganoxie, Kan., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, after surgical complications.
Betty Jean Brownback was born on Dec. 13, 1942, to Virl Harry Kimzey and Bertha May Patton in Moran, Kansas.
Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Donald; and her son, Curtis.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don of the home; her sons, Donnie and his wife Jennifer of Lenexa, Kansas, and Richard Sponseller of Warsaw, Missouri; brothers, Isaiah and Albert Kimzey; and sisters, Edith Jones, Katherine Gafford, Nelda McAnally and Barbara Medlock, all of Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, at Blue Mound Bible Church, Blue Mound, Kansas.
Betty’s family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at 10 a.m., at the church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mildred, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riverbend Activity Fund and can be left with the funeral home.
