Darrell Honas, 52, of Humboldt died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at his residence in Humboldt.
Darrell was born Aug. 13, 1958, in Pittsburg, to Herman and Flo (Dinkel) Honas. He graduated from Chanute High School in 1976 and attended Neosho County Community College in Chanute.
Darrell worked at Gates Corporation for 27 years.
On May 12, 1984, he married Linda Frederick in Chanute.
He enjoyed all sports and especially playing slow pitch softball and coaching youth league ball teams. He also enjoyed hunting.
Darrell is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Josh and Andrew, Humboldt; his mother, Flo Honas, Chanute; and one brother, Norman and his wife, Kristi, Clive, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, R. Dean Honas.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. Burial will be in DeWitt Cemetery west of Humboldt.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Parish Center at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
