Della I. Hicks, 41, Elsmore, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Okla.
Della was born March 12,1972, to Donald and Opal Chastain in Durango, Colo.
She attended school in Hume, Mo., before moving to the Moran area.
She was employed by Value Merchandise in Fort Scott for 16 years. Della continued to work until her health declined in March 2013.
Della liked to spend time outdoors. She liked to fish, but her favorite activity was to spend time with her family and friends.
She was married to Clay Hicks, Elsmore, on March 7, 2013. He survives along with their daughter Heather Hicks. Other survivors include her sons Jerry Kauffman and wife Wendy, Savonburg, and Dustin Hicks and wife Courtney, Dickinson N.D.; three sisters, Pat Harris, Donna Doan and husband Al, and Alice Adams; one brother, Howdy Joe Hall and wife Cathy; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Betty Hall and Dixie Hall, and a brother, Charlie Hall.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be given in her honor at a later date to be announced.
