Dillon J. Fullerton, 23, of Yates Center died Thursday, June 10, 2010, from injuries in an automobile accident near Frontenac.
He was born Feb. 25, 1987, in Iola, to Rickey J. and Janet (Jacobs) Fullerton. He grew up in Yates Center and attended Yates Center High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, served on the Student Council, was chosen football homecoming king, played football and basketball four years and was on the track team for three years. He graduated valedictorian of the class of 2005.
He attended Pittsburg State University where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and was active in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. He worked as a bartender and waiter at Jim’s Steakhouse in Pittsburg. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Yates Center.
He is survived by his parents, Rickey and Janet Fullerton, and a brother, Jeff, Yates Center; grandparents, Lucille Jacobs, Yates Center, and Freida and Bill Highley, Oronogo, Mo.; aunts and uncles, Gerald Jacobs, Ron and Gayla Jacobs, Gill and Rita Hoag, Jerome Jacobs, Martin Jacobs, Kathy Koelsch, Don and Collette Jacobs, Leo Jacobs and Teresa and David Cannon; and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Norris Gymnasium at Yates Center High School. Burial will be in Yates Center Cemetery.  
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Norris Gymnasium.
