Dolores Louise Miller, 89, Shawnee, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018.

Dolores was born June 15, 1928, in El Dorado to Jack and Madge (Collins) McNett. She married Ernest W. Miller of Neal, the love of her life, on Aug. 17, 1959, in Piqua.

Ernest and Dolores lived in Wichita. They had two children, Gayle Bohling, Shawnee, and Alan Miller, Haysville. She was a devoted and loving mother who made sure all who entered her home were well fed.

Dolores ran a home daycare for several years and worked as a custodian for the Wichita Schools for 12 years, retiring in 1990. Ernie and Dolores moved to Shawnee in 2001 to live with their daughter and son-in-law.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Shirley Wood, Kansas City, Mo.; and brother Thelbert McNett, Piqua. She is survived by her brother, J.C. McNett, Yates Center; previously mentioned children; six grandchildren, Leah Chambers and husband Cody, Wichita, Jacob Miller and wife Karina, Samantha Miller and Mary Miller, Haysville, and Calista Bohling and Virginia Bohling, Shawnee; four great-grandchildren: William, Jackson, Tucker and Gabriella; her daughter-in-law, Vallerina; and her son-in-law, Curt Bohling.  

Services are Friday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Piqua, with the Rosary being said at 10 a.m. and Mass at 10:30. Burial will follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.porterfuneralhome.com. Arrangements: Porter Funeral Homes & Crematory, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS.

Memorials have been established for the benefit of St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Piqua, with the St. Martin’s Cemetery Fund or St. Martin’s Oratory.
