Keith Alan Ostrander, 78, Winchester, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at his home after a long illness. He was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Humboldt, one of 13 children of Raymond C. and Mary Madelene Hartwig Ostrander. He was a 1957 graduate of Humboldt High School and attended Independence Community College. He earned a B.S. degree from Emporia State Teacher’s College.

He served as a teacher and coach for many years in different school systems including the communities of Scranton, Winchester, Quinter, Hiawatha, Sabetha, Wellsville and Denver. Colo., before returning to Winchester to serve as a coach. He also farmed and raised cattle in the Winchester area for many years. He attended the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Winchester.

He was married to Martha Irene Huston on July 11, 1970, in Winchester; she survives at the home.

He is survived by two sons, Jeremy (Tamera) Ostrander, Glenwood, Iowa, and Kelby (Emily) Ostrander, Winchester; four daughters, Jill (James) Tweed, Winchester, Meaghen (Bryan) Noll, Winchester, Gretchen (Anthony) Nicholl, Shawnee, and Carrie (Lane) Stamper, Tonganoxie; two brothers, Jack Ostrander, Lucas, Texas, and Ken Ostrander, Salina; six sisters, Beverly Cox, Wichita, Donna Nord, Iola, Marilyn Carpenter, Grand Island, Neb., Janice Anderson, Bentonville, Ark., Madlyn Adams, Olathe, and Judith Rutledge, Humboldt; and 29 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Winchester. Burial at Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery.
