Kim Marie Gade, 55, Blue Mound, died on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at her home following a brief illness.
Kim was born March 4, 1960, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Eugene and Margaret Schilling. Kim attended high school in Denver, Iowa.
A lover of animals, Kim was a barrel racer when younger and enjoyed horse riding. Kim has been involved in Newfoundland Rescue organization for a number of years. Kim was registered nurse and was most recently employed in Richmond. She had been the Director of Nursing at Iola Nursing Center for some time until its recent closing. Kim enjoyed caring for her residents and could often be found at the nursing home doing selfless acts for others. She also loved gardening and canning her produce.
Kim was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Schilling.
She is survived by two sons, Corey and Amber Busta and their children, Kira and Blake, and Ross Busta and his children, Ryleigh and Ashlynn; her mother, Margaret Miller; two brothers, Mike Schilling and Merle Schilling; two sisters, Linda Brown and Pj Short; and her three babies, Moe, Bailey and Lena.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory, Mound City Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Newfoundland Rescue. Donations may be sent to Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box J, Mound City, KS 66056.
