Leah June Spear, 53, Arma, died Nov. 22, 2012, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
She was born June 14, 1959, in Iola. She was the daughter of Lyle and Patricia Doyle.
She grew up in Iola, and was a graduate of Iola High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Cuppy Spear, and a son, Jacob Spear.
Mrs. Spear worked as a nurse her whole life.
She was a graduate of Fort Scott Community College in 2000. As a child she was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Iola.
She was a caring single mother, friend and nurse to all who needed her.
Survivors include a brother, Lyle Jr., Shawnee; a son, Jeffery A. Spear, Lyons; two daughters, Jessica R. Spear, Joplin Mo., and Sarah J. Spear, Arma; and seven grandchildren, Bailey, Megan, Jeff Jr., Bethany, Brittney, Destany and Hannah.
A memorial service will be at First Presbyterian Church by Katherine Bell at 11 a.m. Saturday in Iola.
