Lester L. Oswald, 70, of Shawnee died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at his home.
He was born Aug. 6, 1939, in Reading, Pa., the son of John Jack and Beulah Oswald. He grew up in Redding and joined the U.S. Air Force. He served four years.
On Dec. 27, 1958, he married Shirley A. Shreck at her parent’s home in Colony. After his honorable discharge from the service, they made their home in Topeka where he worked for A.B. Dick Printing. In 1969, they moved to Shawnee where he continued working for A.B. Dick Printing in Kansas City, Mo.
He enjoyed owning and restoring antique cars, going to car shows, fishing and bowling. He was a member of the Good Guys Car Club.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Roger and his wife, Debbie, Colony, and Robert and his wife, Sue, Overland Park; three granddaughters, Dana, Laura and Lori; and five great-grandchildren.
A brother and sister died earlier.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Colony Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Bubna will officiate.
