Lewis B. Simpson, age 66, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2020, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Lewis was born May 13, 1954 to William L. Simpson and Melba (Burris) Shields in Iola. He attended school in Parsons. After school, Lewis joined the Army. From 1972 to 1976, he was stationed in Germany and Fort Hood, Texas, as an infantryman. After his time served in the Army, he spent many years working in oil fields and driving a truck.
Lewis was preceded in death by his father, William S. Simpson; two brothers, Douglas K. Lieurance and Allen Ray “Bubby” Lieurance; step-father, Joe Shields; and grandson, Gage Ryan Genoble.
Lewis is survived by the wife of the home, Shari Simpson; mother, Melba Shields; two sons, John Simpson and William Simpson; one daughter, Sheina Bell; one brother, William L. “Bill” Simpson Jr.; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 Virus, the services will be private.
