Former Iola resident M. Lois (Clark) Frodsham, 94, formerly of McPherson and Johnson City, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit. 

She lived in McPherson from 1951 to 2004, moving to Johnson City. In October 2010, she moved to Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Beloit.  

She was born Sept. 28, 1916, to Artie S. and Myrtle S. Clark in Moulton, Iowa. She graduated from Moulton High School in 1933 and from Iola Junior College in 1936. She graduated from McPherson College in 1962.

On June 25, 1937, she married Charles W. “Chuck” Frodsham in Iola. He died July 23, 1971. She married William F. Rothrock in December 1973.

She began her 21-year teaching career in Allen County in country schools and later taught at the Boys Industrial School in Topeka and for many years at Wickersham and Lincoln Elementary Schools in McPherson.

She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church, member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of P.E.O. Chapter HI. In her retirement years she enjoyed reading and playing bridge. In recent years she enjoyed listening to Talking Books.

Survivors include a son, Charles K. and his wife, Janna, Beloit; a daughter, Phyllis J. Frodsham, Kutztown, Pa.; grandson, Eric Frodsham, Austin, Texas; two granddaughters, Susan Angelisanti and her husband, Dennis, Kutztown, and Kimberly Brown, Lawrence; a brother, Cliff Clark, Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Eileen Kilian, Johnson City; and three great-grandchildren.

A brother, Raymond S. Clark, died earlier.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in McPherson. The Rev. Michael Marion will officiate. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery.  

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
