Maxine Neville Thomas, 79, of Bronson died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Allen County Hospital in Iola. 
She was born Aug. 18, 1930, in Bourbon County, the daughter of Harold and Maude Mix Neville. She lived in Oregon as well as the St. Louis and Kansas City areas where she worked as a legal secretary. She relocated to Bronson in the 1960s. She had worked as a hostess at the Chicken Shack in Bronson as well as the Fort Scott National Historic Site. She also volunteered her time for the Historic Preservation Association of Bourbon County.
Survivors include three nephews, Larry Neville, Gerry Neville and David Neville, and four nieces, Julie Ledford, Carolyn Horsley, Brenda Darity and Helen Naville. 
Two brothers, Maurice and Merle Neville, died earlier.
The Rev. Chub Bolling will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel. Burial will follow.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel in Bronson.
