Roberta Jean “Bert” Hutton, 78, Iola, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Allen County Regional Hospital.
Bert was born Feb. 19, 1938, in Iola, one of 11 children born to John and Lela (Banks) Gumfory. She grew up in Iola. On Feb. 14, 1955, Bert married Charles N. Hutton Sr. and they made their home in Iola for most of their married lives. He preceded her in death on April 22, 2007.
Roberta was a homemaker who nurtured her family. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Iola.
Survivors include her three children, Charles Hutton Jr. and wife Marsha, Pittsburg, Robert Hutton, Iola, and Ramona Hermreck and husband Jerry, Richmond; three siblings, John M. Gumfory Jr., Austin, Texas, LeRoy “Lee” Gumfory, Iola, and Onella Valentine, Neosho Falls; and seven grandchildren, Jaime Knavel, Adam Pintar, Jennifer Hutton, Zachary Hutton, Tyrell Hutton, Seth Hermreck and Ezekial Hermreck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter-in-law Jacqueline “Jackie” Hutton, granddaughter Stephanie Hutton, grandson Thaddeus Hutton and siblings Janet Mueller, Juanita Maple, Robert, Charles, J.M. “Bud,” Duane and Leland “Bon” Gumfory.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Services in Iola. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association and may be left with the funeral home. Go to www.feuerbornfuneral.com to leave a condolence online.
