Vincent Thummel of Iola, whose death on Thursday, Rosary and funeral services were published in Friday’s Register, was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Tipton, to Joe and Anna Marie (Simeon) Thummel. 
On Oct. 28, 1946, he married Yvonne Anita Ulin in Piqua. 
He served in the U.S. Army in the Phillipines during World War II.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Bob and his wife, Linda, Puyallup, Wash.; five daughters, Anita Jacks and her husband, John, Bulverde, Texas, Joyce Quick and her husband, Dennis, Humboldt, Carolyn Heenan and her husband, Tim, Chanute, Barbara Sutterfield, Lawrence, and Lori Applebee, Waynesboro, Va.; two brothers, Leo, Iola, and Charles, Thayer; a sister, Rosella Koester, Chanute; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, five sisters; and one grandson, Kevin DeNoon.
