[Readers’ forum] Property overvalued

We are so glad to hear that property in Iola is worth so much. We think we will put our properties up for sale and become rich. We cannot believe any property in Iola is worth what they appraised McFadden’s little strip of land for. It doesn’t really matter, no one in their right mind would pay that much for that land.
We don’t understand why so many people are trying to keep Iola down in the gutters. There are several big eyesores in Iola that need to be cleaned up and Womack’s is the worst.
We are talking about a new hospital. What if we build a new one but then we can’t get any new doctors because they don’t like the run-down looks of Iola? I understand a dentist who might have located here said that very thing.
Iola will never grow or advance as long as we let these eyesores fester.
We need to get that area cleaned up, extend the rail  trail and build the new park as soon as we possibly can.
We were both born and raised in Iola and we used to be proud of that fact, but we are not proud anymore.
