Allen Community College student athletes begin arriving on campus Friday with the fall sports season just around the corner.
With events scheduled as early as Aug. 12, student athletes will report to their respective dorms and then begin practic for the upcoming season.
Allen Community College Athletic Director Doug Desmarteau said athletes participating in fall sports will be introduced at the college’s Aug. 6 media day.
Those include the men’s and women’s cross country teams, the men’s and women’s soccer teams and volleyball.
The Red Devil women’s soccer team will head to Hutchinson Community College Aug. 12 for a friendly against the Blue Dragons. Aug. 13, the men head to Coffeyville for a 7 p.m. friendly, followed by another friendly Aug. 16 against Lincoln University at 9:30 a.m. friendly.
The volleyball team will see its first taste of live competition during a 2 p.m. exhibition against Cloud County Community College. The cross country teams will not see action until the Aug, 25 Red Devil Classic at Allen Community College.
