Iola’s annual chip-seal street maintenance program will ramp up starting Monday.
City officials announced in a Facebook post that the work will occur in the northeast quadrant of town, east of Cottonwood Street and north of the U.S. 54 corridor.
Motorists are asked to avoid parking in the street in that part of town until the chip-seal project is complete in that area.
Property owners, meanwhile, are asked to avoid discharging grass clippings into the street, which could slow the project.
The project is expected to last between two and three weeks.
