With an undefeated record and a full head of steam, the Allen Community College Red Devils open Jayhawk Conference play Saturday on the road against the archrival Neosho Panthers.

The Red Devils come into Saturday’s contest boasting a 3-0-1 record following their 5-1 pummeling of State Fair Community College over the weekend.

Sophomore midfielder Saviola Blake put Allen up 1-0 in the first period with an assist from sophomore midfielder Dexter Todd, who later scored on an unassisted goal to give Allen a 2-0 advantage.

Allen added scores on unassisted goals by sophomore defender Jeohvah Djimtotinine and sophomore right wing Bastian Loock to take an insurmountable 4-1 lead into halftime. Sophomore right winger Welile Mweli netted Allen’s only goal of the second period. Sophomore keeper Gabriel Nunez and freshman Harry Patrick combined for three saves while keeping the nets clean for most of the game.

The Red Devils remain on the road when they play Jayhawk Conference foe Johnson County Community College Wednesday, Sept. 10 in Overland Park.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is 3:30 p.m. The game at Johnson County is at 8 p.m.

Red Devils face Lady Panthers

The Allen Community College Red Devils soccer team pushed its win streak to three games following Saturday’s 1-0 victory over State Fair College.

After scoring a pair of goals in the Red Devils opener last week against Crowder College, sophomore striker Charlotte Gatehouse struck again with Allen’s only score of the afternoon in the first period.

Allen only needed one score thanks to a standout performance from freshman Catherine Mitchell, who held State Fair College scoreless with two saves.

With the win, the Red Devils improved to 3-1.

They head to Neosho Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday to open Jayhawk Conference play.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, they have a 2 p.m. tilt against Johnson County Community College in Overland Park.
