The Allen Red Devils snapped their four-game losing streak in dramatic fashion, reaching double digits on the scoreboard with Wednesday’s 11-0 victory over Southeast Community College of Lincoln, Neb.

Allen’s blowout in the first half turned into a massacre by the end of the second half, as six total Red Devil players sent shots to the back of the net.

Sophomore striker Jillian Muehlberger picked up the first of her team-leading four goals 6 minutes into regulation off an assist from freshman wing Priya Stanger. It was all Allen from there, as the Red Devils turned on the jets. Seven minutes later, sophomore striker Charlotte Gatehouse netted the first of her three goals on an unassisted shot, then Muehlberger wrapped up the first half with a goal off an assist from freshman Emily Douglas.

In the second half, Allen scored on a barrage of shots separated by mere minutes, with Stanger landing the first salvo at the 49-minute mark, followed by unassisted goals from Gatehouse, Douglas and a pair of Muehlberger goals, putting Allen up 8-0 by the hour mark. The Red Devils wrapped up the contest with goals from Gatehouse, freshman Georgia Swinburn and sophomore midfielder Martha Joseph off an assist from Karah Cooper.

With the win, the Red Devils improve to 5-6-1. They hope to pick up their first Jayhawk Conference victory of the season when Kansas City Kansas Community College (11-2-1, 5-1) comes to town Saturday. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
