Cub boys and girls place third at Tri-Valley League meet

The Humboldt boys and girls powerlifting teams finished third overall in the Tri-Valley League Powerlifting meet on Saturday. 

The Cubs had nine event champions and four overall champions. 

In the bench press, Gabby Jackson (114 pounds) and Noah Johnson (198 pounds) finished first. 

In the squat, Jackson (114 pounds), Josh Vanatta (132 pounds), Isiah Coronado (140 pounds), Alayna Johnson (156 pounds), Joe Murrow (181 pounds), Noah Johnson and Cole Murrow (242 pounds) each finished first. 

Coronado tied the TVL record with a 335-pound squat at 140 pounds and Vanatta broke the TVL record with a 320-pound squat at 132 pounds. 

Jackson, Alayna Johnson, Noah Johnson and Cole Murrow finished the day with overall championships.
