OSWEGO — Uniontown High’s Eagles jumped out to a 5-1 lead against Oswego High’s Indians Thursday. Even up 10-2 going into the bottom of the fifth, the Eagles weren’t able to hold on.
Oswego rallied with five runs in the fifth then produced eight runs in the sixth on its way to a 15-10 win. Uniontown was run-ruled in 2 1/2 innings in the second game as Oswego won 21-3.
“Jordan Woods stole home for our first run in the first game. In the second game he hit a solo home run,” said Chris Woods, Uniontown head coach. “In the first game, we hit the ball extremely well but gave the Indians the game by not making the routine plays.”
DuShaun Robinson hit a two-run home run for the Eagles in the fifth of the first game. Kyle Mills hit three singles. Max Labbe, Anthony Myers and Ty Clayton each had two singles. Woods and Mitchell Newman each hit a single.
In the second game, Eagle pitchers issued 13 walks and gave up eight hits. Myers, Labbe and Robinson pitched.
Besides, Woods’ home run, Clayton hit a two-run home run in the third plus had a single. Labbe had a single.
The Eagles play next Thursday and Friday at home against Central Heights and Jayhawk-Linn.
