ARMA — Uniontown High’s Eagles followed up their first win with another victory Friday night. Both came on the road.
The Eagles improved to 2-3 on the season with a 52-0 victory over host Northeast High’s Vikings.
“Our defense set the tone early in the game forcing a turnover on their first series,” said Chad Stroud, Eagle head coach. “Our offense took advantage of a short field.”
The Eagles scored all 52 points in the first half. By the end of the first quarter, Uniontown led 19-0.
Jordan Woods rushed for 164 yards and scored four touchdowns for the Eagles. Garrett Murrow had two touchdowns as he gained 98 yards on the ground.
Uniontown outgained Northeast 339 yards to 79 in total offense.
“For the second week in a row, our offensive line — Josh Beerbower, Tyler Hall, Matt Maloney, Max Labbe and Mitchell Newman — dominated the game physically,” Stroud said.
Zach Travis and Ty Clayton each scored a touchdown.
Jay Hierholzer made nine tackles for the Eagle defense. Brenton Esslinger had seven tackles and a quarterback sack.
Labbe forced a fumble, had an interception and made six tackles. Clayton had five tackles, two sacks, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.
