Eighth-grade Ponies drop back-to-back road games

The Iola eighth-grade girl’s basketball team made road trips to Burlington and Wellsville and on both occasions, the Ponies walked away with a loss.

Iola fell to Burlington 57-11 on Monday and Wellsville 50-12 on Thursday.

Aysha Houk led the way for Ponies in the first game versus the Bobcats, scoring six and grabbing two rebounds.

Dallyn McGraw had three points and four rebounds and Celina Caron had two points. Jayden Kaufman had three rebounds. Hallie McDermit had a rebound.

Versus Wellsville, Houk again was on top in points with seven followed by three for McGraw and two for Caron to go along with three steals.

Kaufman had three rebounds and Houk, Caron, Kadin Smith and Cali Riley each had two rebounds. McGraw and Crystal Lindsey had one rebound.

The Ponies will return home today where they’ll try to rebound when they face Prairie View.
