NEODESHA — Bryce Isaac and Kaylie Johnson each led their respective Cub teams in Thursday’s TVL track and field meet by dominating the long and triple jumps.
Isaac took first in both events. He jumped 19’6.5” in the long jump and 41’11.25” in the triple jump.
Isaac also ran the 300-meter hurdles for just the third time in his Cub career. His 44.25 time earned him second place.
Kaylie Johnson earned Humboldt a sweep in the triple jump when she jumped 33’11.5” to win the league.
She took second in the long jump and finished fourth in the 400-meter run.
Annalise Whitcomb also racked up points for the Cubs’ girls team. Her personal-best 102’4.5” discus throw was enough to earn her the league championship. Whitcomb also took fourth in the javelin.
Britnee Works had a second-place finish in the high jump and Lizzie Myers ran a personal best to take third in the 800 meters to give the Cubs their other two top-three finishers.
Aside from Isaac, the Cub boys picked up a first in the 800-meters as Joe Kline run a 2:05.54.
Kline also finished runner-up in the 1600 and took sixth in the 3200.
The Cubs added second-place honors in three other field events. Anthony Doran took second in the pole vault, while Kalob Cleaver was runner-up in the discus and Colin Gillespie was second in the high jump.
