Iola Indians, Iola Sonic, Superior Products play in Longball Classic

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Iola Indians, 11-and-under traveling boys’ baseball team, won the Big League Chew Longball Classic, June 4-5, in Kansas City. The Iola Sonic, 12-and-under traveling boys’ team, claimed the championship of their division of the tournament.
Iola Indians went 4-0. They beat Mission Angels 10-4 in the championship game. Earlier they had defeated Olathe Blue Sox 10-8, Regal Rebels 10-8 and Olathe Blue Sox, again, 13-5.
Iola Sonic defeated the Bulldogs 3-2 in the 12-and-under championship game. It had beat Tornadoes 12-10, MBA Wildcats 15-7 and the Tornadoes, again, 10-7.
Superior Products, a 9-and-under boys’ traveling team, went 1-2 in its division of the Longball Classic. It beat Northwest Vipers 12-11 then lost 17-10 to the Bison and 10-8 to the Vipers.
