Children entering grades 1 through college will learn various aspects about theatre, while getting to perform a Disney classic in the process.
A two-week summer theatre camp starts Monday, where the young thespians will audition for a role in Disney’s “101 Dalmatians Kids,” a stage adaptation of the classic book (and animated blockbuster film), where the fiendish Cruella De Vil plots to steal dalmatian puppies for a new fur coat.
With a high-spirited score and lovable characters, the show is certain to appeal to all audiences.
Bowlus director Mandy Moyer will direct, aided by Bowlus staffers.
As of Friday, more than 40 have registered.
Auditions run from noon to 3 p.m., with youngsters required to attend the entire audition. The students should enter through the south alley doors.
Rehearsals will follow weekdays through June 25 between 1 and 3 p.m.
The camp will end with two public performances, at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, and 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Bowlus.
All the while, campers will learn everything from acting, to hair and makeup, costuming, set design, stage managing, lights and sound.
AS AN aside, the Bowlus is slated to host its 2026-27 season announcement party Tuesday evening.
Supporters will gather at 6 p.m. for a meal in the large rehearsal hall, followed by the season announcement in the main auditorium.
