Playing at home was good for Southern Coffey County High’s Lady Titans but not so for Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcats Tuesday. Humboldt High’s Lady Cubs, meanwhile, were .500 on the road.

At Moran, Marmaton Valley’s Wildcats lost two tightly contested matches that both went to three sets. Eureka beat Marmaton Valley 22-25, 25-8, 25-8 and Yates Center defeated Marmaton Valley 20-25, 25-19, 25-22.

“We did some good things but we definitely did not play to our full potential,” said Terra Kegler, MVHS head coach. “Mentally, we just weren’t there.”
