WINCHESTER — Wildcat freshman Bailey Griffith capped off her stellar first season on the varsity level with a pair of bids to the state meet.
Griffith jumped 17’2” in the long jump to place second in the regional and she later added another second place regional finish by jumping 35’6” in the triple jump.
The freshman just missed qualifying in three of her events with a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash — edged by Jefferson County North’s Annabelle Vaughn by .01 of a second. She also took seventh in the 200-meter dash.
Wildcat senior Kyla Drake will be joining the freshman in Wichita after she took fourth in the high jump at regionals with a 5’0”.
Junior Will Holeman will represent the Wildcat boys after he finished fourth in the discus with a 123’0”.
