The Allen County Kids Wrestling Mat Warriors have been busy the past three weekends.
They ended January competing at Fort Scott.
In the 6-and-under divison, T.J. Taylor was third in the 43-pound weight class and Alexa Yarnell took first in the 61-pound class.
At 8-and-under, Jeremy Ridge was third in the 61-pound class and Gavin Morris took fourth in the 64-pound class.
In the 12-and-under division, Chadler House was first in the 120-pound class and Quintin Sams was third. Andrew Garber claimed first place in the 130-pound class.
Cody Conner was second in the 14-and-under 110-pound class. Mike Armstrong placed fourth in the 115-pound class.
Armstrong went to Pittsburg the next week and placed first in the 14-and-under 115-pound class.
At the DeSoto novice tournament, Yarnell placed second, going 3-1 in the 6-and-under 61-pound class. In a 12-and-under 120-pound bracket, House was fourth and in another 12-and-under 120-pound bracket, Sams was fourth.
Last week, three Mat Warriors competed at the SEK Jr. Comets tournament in Chanute. Ridge went 1-2 in the 8-and-under, 61-pound class and Garber was 0-3 in his 12-and-under, 130-pound class.
Armstrong captured first in the 14-and-under, 115-pound class. He was awarded a trophy for the fastest pin in his age division, a 12-second pin.
This weekend, the Allen County youth wrestlers go to a tournament in Ottawa. Next week they go to Linn County in LaCygne, then the Mat Warriors host their annual tournament on March 6.
