Iola High came away with a first-place finish in its junior varsity golf meet on Tuesday.
Gentry Dougherty and Elijah Luedke led the team, tying for fifth place by each shooting a 52.
Jeremy Waldman also had a good day by shooting a 56 and earning an eighth-place tie. Drake Sell rounded out the Mustangs with a 57 that earned him a tie for 10th.
Parker Smith and Chloe Hageman earned top-15 places. Smith scored a 59, while Hageman had a 60.
Coffeyville’s Josh Phillips took first overall, edging out Parson’s Reese Mathis by just one stroke and finished with a 48.
Iola’s team score was 217, which earned them first in the tournament over runner-up Fort Scott, which finished with a 226.
Iola hosted the meet at Allen County Country Club.
