WELLSVILLE — The Iola Mustangs opened the season with a 35-21 loss after allowing the Wellsville Eagles to pull away in the second half thanks to a five-touchdown performance by Eagles’ senior quarterback Pete Dorsey.
Iola coach David Daugharthy said he liked what he saw out of his team in the early goings and hopes to fix a few issues that allowed the Eagles take the first of only four Pioneer League contests on Iola’s schedule.
