CHANUTE — Marmaton Valley High senior Cheyanne Miller sets out to pursue her volleyball career at the college level. Miller recently signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Neosho County Community College in Chanute.
NCCC head coach Asya Herron announced the signing recently. Neosho County went 7-29 in 2010.
“I’m very excited to see her go on to play, said Lindsay Ermel, MVHS head volleyball coach. “When I first came on as assistant coach, she stood out to me. Cheyanne has a great attitude and great energy on the court and the girls looked up to her.”
Miller, a 5-9 outside hitter, received first-team All-Three Rivers League honor as a sophomore. She received honorable mention as a senior and league second-team honors as a junior.
Marmaton Valley High Wildcats went 9-27 after going 6-28 in 2009 and 1-29 in 2008, Miller’s sophomore season.
Miller has been a member of the SEK Force volleyball club for two years.
She is the daughter of Craig and Paula Miller of Moran. She plans to major in nursing at Neosho County.
