Clint Bowyer, a NASCAR driver with several ties to Iola, will be featured tonight on the reality television show “Duck Dynasty.”
The episode will be broadcast at 9 o’clock on A&E (Channel 41 for Cox Communications subscribers in Iola).
Bowyer, an Emporia native, will be honored Friday in Las Vegas as part of the driving circuit’s post-season awards banquet. Bowyer finished second to points champion Brad Keselowski in the 2012 season, which ended Nov. 18.
Bowyer is the son of Chris and Jana Bowyer, both of whom graduated from Iola High School and attended Allen County Community College.
He is the grandson of Gene and Leah Tomson and the late Dale and Thelma Bowyer, Iola, and is the nephew of Iolans Kent and Ronda Tomson.
Bowyer, 33, owns eight career victories in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup circuit.
He drives the No. 15 5-Hour Energy Drink Toyota Camry for Michael Waltrip Racing.
