1. SHR’s super showing

Stewart-Haas Racing is flexing its mechanical muscles. Not only did SHR Fords claim the Dover win (Harvick) and second place (Bowyer), but Kurt Busch was fifth — the first time in the team’s history that has happened. “It’s another milestone for us,” Tony Stewart said.

2. No laps led

Dover was a bad scene for Team Toyota. Its top driver, Cup Series points leader Kyle Busch, fell out with drivetrain issues on Lap 272. When the checkered flag fell, no Toyota had led a lap, which has not happened since the 2016 season. “We’ll go on to next week,” Busch said.

3. Daniel’s delight

One good sign for Toyota at Dover: Daniel Suarez equaled his career-best finish (third) at Dover driving the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. “We had a little rough start in the first few weeks — month, month and a half — and now definitely we are moving in the right direction,” Suarez said.
