OSWEGO — The Yates Center Wildcats nearly shocked the area eight-man football community as they threatened an upset over the undefeated Oswego Indians, but an Indian rally in the second half left the score at 66-56 Friday.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 20-12 lead by the end of the first quarter and added 14 more points before halftime, leading Oswego by a score of 34-20. Junior quarterback Gavin Busteed accounted for all but 127 yards of the Wildcats’ 347 total yards of offense as he tried to will his team to victory.
