ANDOVER — Matt Percy earned the right to hoist the Virgil Parker Cup.
The Cup was awarded to Percy and his teammates after Percy’s putt on the 18th green at the Flint Hills National Golf Club clinched them the title in the 31st annual Kansas-Nebraska Junior Cup Matches. The event featured the top eight golfers from the Kansas Junior Golf Association against the top eight junior golfers from Nebraska.
Percy is the son of Lynn Percy of Ottawa, and Mark and Trina Percy of Iola. He is grandson of Jeanne Ann Percy of Iola and the late Glenn Percy, who Matt credits as his mentor and the person who taught him the game of golf.
Matt’s home golf course is the Allen County Country Club.
Percy will begin his college golf career at Hutchinson Community College.
