The eighth-grade Iola Ponies volleyball team traveled to Santa Fe Trail for A and B/C-team matches. While the A team was unable to earn a set win, the B bombers fought through a tightly contested match to end up on the winning side.
In the A team match, Iola lost all three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-7, and 25-12. Jackie Fager served great for the Ponies, earning a team high five aces. Rio Lohman picked up her first block of the season, and added two kills.
In The B/C team match, the five sets went 20-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, and 15-8. Jennica Churning led with eight aces, Kennedy Maier provided four, and Maddy McVey along with Addyson Goble provided another three apiece. Hallie Sutherland propelled the attack with kills.
Marmaton Valley
The Wildcats dominated Uniontown in both sets, winning by scores of 25-14 and 25-0. Janae Granere scored 28 points, and accounted for every point in the second set versus Uniontown. Payton Scharff added another eight points. Marmaton Valley played Crest in the following match, and earned its first loss of the season, falling in three sets. Granere led all Wildcats once again, this time scoring 12 points. The Wildcats rebounded for a win in their final match versus Jayhawk-Linn, comfortably winning in two sets.
