FREDONIA — Humboldt High’s Robbie Sellman shot a 75 to win the Fredonia Invitational on Tuesday. It was the lowest score that he has shot in high school.
“He has been around the top throughout his high school career, just never able to get a win,” coach Scott Brady said. “He has definitely earned this and hopefully he can build on this going forward.”
It was one of Sellman’s goals to win a tournament this season.
“If he can play like he did yesterday he should be able to check off some of his other goals as the year progresses,” Brady said.
Also competing, Connor Roseberry finished with a 139 and Matt Lea shot a 152.

YATES CENTER’S tandem of golfers had a frustrating day on the course.
“All the boys expressed they had problems, whether it was putting, hooking or slicing drives, and just plain muffing shots,” coach Kevin Barnes said.
“For the upperclassmen, I told them this was a step forward because even though they knew they didn’t play well, it was not the worst scores they have ever turned in. And for the freshmen, I told them that there would be days like this and just to put this behind them.”
Remi Wagner shot a 104 for 30th place, Jon Barnes finished with a 107 for 33rd, Zach Kress hit a 122 for 50th, Colin Bedell shot a 123 for 52nd and Cheyenne Gill hit a 139 for 54th. The four-man team score of 456 put them in 10th.
