LE ROY — A dominating stretch spanning the second and third quarters lifted Southern Coffey County’s boys to victory Tuesday night.
The third period almost did the same for the SCC girls, but they came up just short in overtime.
The Titans and Lady Titans hosted Hartford in regular season action.
In the boys game, Southern Coffey County took control of its 60-47 win by outscoring Hartford 17-8 in the second period and 14-8 in the third. The fourth quarter opened with the Titans on top, 47-32.
Aaron True was the primary catalyst for SCC with 25 points, followed by Josiah Witteman with 14 and Tyler Houston with 13.
Clayton Fowler scored 19 — including five 3-pointers — and Lane Ikerd 13 for the Jaguars.
Meanwhile, the Lady Titans trailed Hartford, 16-12, at halftime before embarking on a 5-0 run spanning the third quarter to take a 17-16 lead.
But Hartford was able to pull even at 25-25 to force overtime in its 32-29 win.
Kalyn Deal had nine points and Brittney Brite seven for the Lady Titans. Chenae Newkirk added six and Breanna Isch five.
Emily Prather’s 13 points paced Hartford.
