HUMBOLDT — Riley Whitworth led wire-to-wire Friday night but not without pressure. Tim VanGotten and Shawn Springs were battling behind him all the way in the B-Mod feature race at Humboldt Speedway.
The battle for the runner-up spot took most of the race between VanGotten and Springs. By the time VanGotten took control of second, he had run out of time to challenge Whitworth for the victory. Springs came across in third followed by Matt Thompson and Dalton Kirk.
