FORT SCOTT — Yates Center High’s Wildcat girls finishes fifth in the Fort Scott Invitational golf tournament Tuesday. Chanute won it with a 203 team score and Yates Center had a 240.
“The girls played very well and we had the best team score of the season,” said Linda Old, YCHS girls’ golf coach. “The girls are all showing a great deal of improvement.”
Marlana Buchanan led the Wildcats with a 55, finishing in a tie for 11th. Becky Wendland and Bailee Stuber each shot a 59 in the nine-hole event.
Brecken Collins shot a 67 and Rachel Busteed had a 78. Mazie Wilson carded an 80.
