Two special trains, with an eventual load of 2,500 school children and teachers, will leave the Santa Fe depot at Iola at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow for Kansas City. There the students will be taken on a tour of all the principal points of interest. It is estimated that between 400 and 500 school children will board the train at Iola. The trains will have picked up school children in towns south of here and will pick up students at towns from here to Kansas City. Those taking the trip are principally rural school children but anyone can use the trains at the special excursion fares.

To make amends for not being in Topeka when the Iola Junior High 9th graders were there a few weeks ago, Gov. Frank Carlson has made arrangements to come to Iola and speak to all of the students at IJH. His subject will be “Responsibility in Government.”

R.H. Anderson announced this morning that he has sold his interest in the Iola Implement Co., J.I. Case farm implement and Studebaker automobile dealers, to A.J. Habinger, who has been a joint owner. Anderson and Habinger opened the business about four years ago, having constructed a new modern building at the corner of Broadway and South streets.

At least 200 adult scouters and boy scouts from Allen and Woodson counties are expected to attend the annual bean feed at the Iola Junior High School tonight. The program will include colored slides and movies taken at the Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico in the summer.
