Armed with a grant from the Community Foundation of SEK, Tri-Valley Developmental Services has acquired a pair of practice automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The defibrillators will be used to help employ Tri-Valley employees and other community members through CPR and first aid training offered through Tri-Valley. The devices will be stored at Tri-Valleys administrative office in Chanute and at its service center in Fort Scott.
Thanks to the generosity of the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas, we will be able to train our staff not only the proper CPR methods but also on the use of the fantastic technology provided by the AEDs, Miner said. It is so difficult to find the resources necessary to provide our employees with the training they need and being awarded this grant, we are able to purchase the equipment we need, Tri-Valley executive director Tim Cunningham said.
