Pastor Steve Traw continued with Nehemiah 8:1-12, “Rebuilding a Nation: Feasting on the Word.” After completing the wall the people cried out to Nehemiah to hear the scripture. They gathered to hear the word and when the reading began they fell to the ground to show honor to God and the word.

Verses describe the need for constant cleansing of this imperfect world, as we come to the word. A pastor is the teacher of God’s truth. Reading does not always mean we fully understand what we have read. The Bible’s language has not changed, but language has changed over time.

Sunday is a sacred day, God is giving us ministry and a meal. A show of God’s love — an opportunity to know and grow with God.

We are grateful for the return of our regular pianist Myrna Wildschuetz. Dale Thiele played his guitar and sang a song. Then Richard Klingensmith sang “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow.”
